January of 1891, One hundred years ago, at the Law Library on North Church Street, a group of prominent Charlotte citizens gathered . This group of citizens intentions was to set a library for the people of Charlotte. This library was the forerunner of today's Public Library of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County.
